Tactical First In Team Exercise - April 3, 2008
Several ACS members participated with a Sarasota County "Tactical First In Team" (TFIT) exercise on April 3, 2008.After the TFIT teams arrived at the "Staging Area", an ACS member was assigned to ride along with the "Team Leader" to handle communications. During this exercise, we were mainly used to contact the ACS member with the K9 "Search & Rescue" team ... who would meet up with the main group, and handle any communications between the two groups (if needed).
The teams would then continue working their assigned tasks, such as clearing debris, removing downed power lines and poles, hazardous materials, law enforcement activities, etc.
The teams met "on scene", so there were no communications required en route to the location (as we have done in the past).
Those assisting, were
Tom, KJ4BBH - K9 (his first exercise)
Bob, KA4BOB - TFIT
Bob, K9SRQ - TFIT
Ron, WD4AHZ - Check-in/Staging
While not particularly difficult this year, it was primarily a chance for everyone to reacquaint themselves with the procedures and each other, break in our new ACS shirts, and partake in a pretty good lunch!
Thanks to those folks who helped.
Ron, WD4AHZ
