Become A Ham
If you would like to become a ham radio operator, the Sarasota County Auxiliary Communications Service can help you get licensed.
As a minimum, you will need to get the "Technician" class license, which is the basic entry level class of license, and does not require knowledge of Morse Code.
Self Study Course
The Sarasota County Auxiliary Communications Service offers a free self-study ham radio Technician course, to help interested individuals obtain a ham radio license.
We also offer a free General course for those folks wishing to upgrade their license from Technician.

Amateur Radio Exam Session
There will be an ACS sponsored Amateur Radio Exam Session on Saturday, February 27, 2010, to be held at the County Administration Building, 1660 Ringling Blvd., downstairs training room. Testing will begin at 9 AM.Search for other exam opportunities.
